Playgroup update

Here I am again, this time raring to go with a trial session. If you visit this blog having seen an advertisement for it please add your comments below.
In the meantime my ideas are as follows:
Two age groups: older babies and young toddlers in the first (Little Bo-Peep) and 3-6 year olds in the second (Ready Steady Bo!). Mums (or Dads, a grandparent or babysitter) should accompany the child and be prepared to sing songs and do some simple actions. If English is not your first language, it should be of a sufficient standard in order to conduct all activities in English if possible. The aim is to have fun in an English-speaking environment.
The venue is yet to be confirmed, though I have already received one kind offer and would like to keep it in the centre of Bologna. Timings depend on participants and numbers, but Little Bo-Peep will probably take place on a weekday morning while Ready Steady Bo! will have to be in the afternoon. If you have preferences for a certain day of the week please say so as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
Thanks and looking forward to getting started...

English playgroup in Bologna

Well here I am, finally writing the first of what I hope to be many posts on this brand new blog...
Let me introduce myself. I am a British mother-of-two, living in Italy and trying to bring up my children to be bilingual. Their father is Italian and so far, so good. However the eldest is already at scuola materna and has been propelled into an Italian-speaking world after returning to her native Bologna, having spent the last two years in a more international setting (and thus speaking more English). My quest is to find English-speaking children in Bologna with whom to play, sing songs and generally have fun. The ages of my daughters are 4 years and 11 months respectively, but any age up to 6 would interest me at the moment. I am also a qualified teacher of languages and would be willing to run a (or more) group(s) myself...at no cost for the moment.
Please let me know via this blog if you may be interested in this activity for yourself, your children or anyone else. A parent's (or guardian's) presence would be essential too.
I would also welcome any other ideas for activities, though have many of my own...
Bye for now
